External exchange references
External compute products provide hardware-cost and broad-compute reference series. Each product keeps its own specifications, access terms, symbols and data rights alongside the Megatron Markets instrument identity.
Third-party products
Public information reviewed on 21 August 2026 includes:
- CME Group Compute Futures, described by CME Group as planned contracts tied to Silicon Data H100 and B200 on-demand GPU rental indices, with a 5 October target subject to review.
- ICE and NATIVX GPU compute contracts, announced as planned contracts based on NATIVX's energy-normalized COIL Index.
Those sources own the current status and specifications. The reference catalogue preserves the source link, symbol, date, contract term and price context.
Comparison boundary
Megatron Markets prices a provider/model/service-tier bundle of Prompt, Cache read, Cache write, and Output token legs. The external products above reference GPU rental or energy-normalized compute. The comparison keeps each series separately labelled with its unit and owner.
Any comparison must retain:
- source and product owner;
- underlying definition and contract unit;
- currency and price scale;
- contract month or observation time;
- market status and data delay;
- the model-token bundle identity used on the Megatron Markets side.
Do not convert a GPU hour or energy-normalized compute unit into tokens without a versioned method, representative workload evidence, and explicit assumptions. A chart may show two labelled series without asserting that one determines the other.
Reference API status
The external-market routes provide authenticated reference views. They require a signed-in session but no desk header:
| Route | Response contract |
|---|---|
GET /api/v1/external-markets | Capability rows for CME, ICE, NODAL, and CBOE |
GET /api/v1/external-markets/{venue}/products | An attributed product catalogue when that venue adapter is available |
GET /api/v1/external-markets/{venue}/products/{product_code}/snapshot | One attributed, freshness-classified price snapshot when price access is available |
Responses carry provider, product, freshness and source-attribution fields. Catalogue and snapshot consumers should render the response status and preserve exact product identity; invalid venue or product-code syntax returns 400, and a missing session returns 401.
Integration preparation
Use provider-owned access for external data. CME Group documents a Reference Data API for specifications, symbols, schedules, and lifecycle dates, and market-data APIs for available REST and streaming products. ICE documents its exchange-traded derivatives reference data and delivery options.
Before connecting an external series, prepare:
- Written permission and the intended display, analysis, or redistribution use.
- A stable mapping for owner, venue, product, contract month, symbol, and source timestamp.
- Exact decimal handling, currency and unit labels, and trading-session boundaries.
- Snapshot and streaming freshness rules, sequence-gap recovery, and stale-state display.
- Independent source attribution on every table, chart, export, and derived comparison.
- Contract-specification change detection and a review owner.
Megatron Markets participant routes remain the source for Megatron Markets instruments. External product data follows the external provider's access method and terms. Validate provider-owned access and retain the source attribution before displaying a catalogue response.
Display and controls
An external reference panel should show the product owner, delayed or realtime status, as-of time, contract month, quote unit, and source link. Keep it visually separate from Megatron Markets books and order tickets, with source identity visible beside every comparison.
